Välkomna till ett symposium om svensk musikteaters framtid.

Vilka möjligheter och utmaningar finns för att skapa nya musikaler i Sverige? Vilka lärdomar kan vi få från internationella initiativ och trender? Vad finns det för samarbetsmöjligheter som kan stötta utvecklingen av nya musikaler?

Med keynote-samtal från internationella gäster, panelsamtal, gruppdiskussioner och möjligheter till nätverkande och kontaktskapande hoppas vi att symposiet kommer gen en möjlighet att dela idéer, lära av varandra, främja samarbeten och skapa nya kontakter – både i Sverige och internationellt.

CONFIRMED SPEAKERS

Francesca Moody

Francesca Moody is a British theatrical producer best known for bringing the theatrical versions of Fleabag and Baby Reindeer, both of which were adapted into television series, to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Francesca’s production company, FMP, is Olivier Award-winning and Tony nominated, and works with leading writers and nurture new talent to produce bold, award-winning shows with huge potential and something to say – be it drama, comedy, horror, or musicals.

Tim Sutton

Tim Sutton is an award-winning composer and musical director for theatre, commercial media and choir.. He has worked extensively with the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre of Scotland, Young Vic, Shakespeare’s Globe, Almeida Theatre and Sonia Friedman Productions. Tim was the Musical Director for the National’s Theatre’s famous show War Horse from 2017-20.

James Hadley (BEAM)

James Hadley is Executive Director of Musical Theatre Network, an organisation focused on the professional development and staging of new UK musicals. The organisation also runs BEAM, a unique biannual showcase festival. West End shows Operation Mincemeat and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) are notable BEAM success stories.

OM studio three sixty

The Swedish New Musical Theatre symposium anordnas av studio three sixty, en teaterdesignstudio baserad i Göteborg. Studions grundare, Lucy Osborne, är prisbelönt scenograf och kostymdesigner vars arbete ses i stora teaterhus i London som Donmar Warehouse, The Barbican och National Theatre, i New York på The Armory och i Sverige på GöteborgsOperan.
